I’m going to be completely blunt with you: As of yesterday, The GrassHopper has been forced to pull all THCa flower and concentrates from our menu. If you’ve noticed a $0 balance on our flower categories, it’s not because we’re out of stock. It’s because the State of Texas (DSHS) just changed the rules overnight. They’ve moved to a "Total THC" standard that effectively bans nearly every high-quality hemp flower and concentrate on the market—products that were perfectly legal 48 hours ago.
Why this is happening
The state has implemented a new calculation that targets the very products you rely on for wellness and relief. On top of that, they’ve increased retail registration fees by over 3,000% (from $155 to $5,000).
For a local, independent delivery service like mine, these rules are designed to do one thing: Shut us down.
Where we stand
I am not taking this sitting down. I am working with other businesses to bring a lawsuit against the state to stop these unconstitutional rules. We are fighting for a temporary injunction to bring these products back to your door.
But I’ll be honest—I’m a one-man show. My license is up for renewal in 60 days, and under these current rules, The GrassHopper might not survive past June.
